Complying with Regulation 15: Age Grade Rugby
Barkers Butts RFC complies with RFU regulation 15 regarding age grade rugby. These regulations apply to all clubs.
15.2 Determining a player’s Age Grade
15.2.1 A player’s age grade is determined by their age at midnight on 31st August at the beginning of each Season and that age grade applies for the whole Season.
15.3 Playing with other Age Grades
15.3.1 Players in the U6 age grade and below are not permitted to participate in any types of matches, competitions, tournaments or festivals in any age grade. A player is only permitted to participate in matches, competitions, tournaments or festivals from U7s and above.
Barkers Butts Policy regarding U5s
To train as part of Barkers Butts RFC players MUST be aged 5+ years on 31st August at the beginning of each Season.
Children aged 4 or less on the 31st August at the beginning of each Season may not participate in any Barkers Butts RFC training. We recommend that any children aged 4 or below try 'Scrum Kids', held at Barkers. 'Scrum Kids' cater specifically for younger children and introduce rugby skills in an age appropriate way.
Barkers Butts Policy regarding U6s
Our U6s age group aims to give children a fun, enjoyable and active introduction to rugby. U6s are not permitted to play matches, competitions, tournaments or festivals with any older age grades. However U6s are encouraged to take part in joint training sessions with other clubs whenever possible. Please ask the coaches if you have any queries.
