With sadness, we have to announce the death of Derek Poynton, age 89, earlier in December.

Derek was a Barkers' player in the 1960's and 1970's, a committee man and an avid supporter of rugby. His three sons also played at the Club.

After the death of his wife Heather, Derek and his sons moved to Devon however he still followed Barkers, as well as Coventry RFC.

Derek's funeral will be held on 9 January 2025, in Exeter. The thoughts and love of everyone at Barkers' Butts RFC is sent to Derek's sons and the rest of his family.

Rest in peace Derek.
