We, and the RFU, use the RFU GMS (Game Management System) to record details of players and Club members. The RFU are planning a data tidy up at the end of July to help comply with GDPR and to also help clubs update their data and get rid of any old records. The RFU are also keen to give ownership of the data held in GMS to individual members/players, rather than the burden being on club volunteers to update everything!

For the data tidy up, a valid GMS record (a player or member) must contain:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Home Postcode (Home Address)
  • Gender
  • Email Address which is both unique to GMS, and that has been verified by its owner For Age Grade records linked to a parent/guardian, a verified email address will only be required against the parent/guardian record

If a record does not contain this info IT WILL BE DELETED BY THE RFU FROM 24 JULY! To stop your GMS record being deleted, please CHECK YOUR RECORD. Further details on how to do this can be found here.

Please take action now, it will only take a couple of minutes rather than having to add all your details again at the start of next season! We currently have 1,309 individuals (records) not meeting the minimum data requirements!
