Keresley RFC
Barkers Butts RFC

A pre-season warm up game against the NW Barbarians. Played on a very hot day it would be a test of the boys fitness and desire

And they showed both were there against a game NWB team .

Each of the trys had to be worked for and in all 10 were scored

And who else should open the scoring for the season but Toby Jones

With Thomas Dyson starting at 10 , a called move fed Toby who hit the hole and his pace took him away from the cover defence to score

Next on the try list was Sam Mikhael, another whose pace was there to see as he received the ball and blown away the NWB defenders

NWB scored they’re first try after a sustained attack and Barkers eventually running out of defensive cover

With Ethan Spandley causing all kind of mayhem with his tackling along with his back row partners it was receiving the ball in open play which gave him his score. With space in front of him he stretched his legs and powered away to score

Next came George Parnell another showing off his tremendous pace and agility to score

Aflie Griffin came next with a powerful burst close to the line to go over before the backs got back into the action with Byron Browns first of the day again this pacy winger showing off just how quick he is .

Back came NWB’s for their second score again down to they’re never say die attitude and determination

Debut boy Paddy Heffernan then got on the score sheet after good work by the forwards for him to finish it off .

Back came Byron , now at fullback, for his second score again owing much to his pace

And a good day for the back line was rounded off with the 2 final scores , the first , again , from the pacy elusive Charlie Gaut and finally a lung bursting final whistle score from Ollie Hurst who burst the defensive line and went from inside his own half to score

Lots to enthuse about , lots to work on but overall not a bad blow out

Thanks to all who played and to Simon who did his best to ruin it !!! 😂😂
