This was a much anticipated test for the under 15's and it had been a number of years since we had last played Hinckley however looking at recent fixtures it was going to be a cracker!
The game started with with each side putting together a couple of phases and testing each other's defences which both help up well however it was Hinckley you had the first breakthrough scoring and converting putting them 7-0 up.
There was then a period of dominance for Barkers finished off with Nick being put through a hole in the defence and smashed his way over the line and dotted under the posts which Alex gratefully converted. Barkers continued to apply the pressure and were worthy recipients of another try thanks to a blistering run from Sam beating a couple of defenders, so we went into the break 12-7 in front.
The second half started much the same and the game was like a 15 man arm wrestle and with Hinckley taking advantage of some indecision they went over wide on the right. The tussle continue and remained tight with Hinckley managing to secure a penalty taking the score to 17-12 where in fact it finished.
A great game played in the right spirit by both teams. And I have to say one of the highlights for sure was not having enough room on the subs bench for all our replacements 😀.
man of the match today was Don!
